Poetry: "Bridge of Angels" by Amy Carroll Bennett

There’s a bridge over the Tiber
Where the heavenly angels pass
And the sun sinks in the river

Stilling it to glass

The lights dance on the water
Calling all to come
From the mysteries of the histories
To the sacred Heart of Rome

Where dust meets the Divine
Like the river meets the sea
The bridge unites the space
Between the Past and Eternity

The angels sing in my dreams
And call my heart to Rome
To seek you in the shadow
Of St. Peter’s shining dome
