Poetry: In the Middle of Not Yet by Monica Copeland

We sit waiting for the “next” in our lives,

Pondering when, where, who, what, and why?

Remembering promises of soon, in a little while, but doubting it will ever come.

What makes us doubt?

Is it fear, hurt, forgetfulness, or impatience?

These things can grip us, paralyze, and stunt the “soon to come.”

Readiness, Preparation, Wisdom, and Knowledge hover above our heads,

waiting to drop in and

take

a

seat.

Are we good hosts or oblivious to the path of arrival and what it requires?

Hmm, Ah, Oh, is what we say when the epiphany pops up in our view

to make the muddy waters clear.

Now is the time, soon is right now, and the next journey will soon begin!
